When used by shop professionals, it worked fine. Students are more rough on the equipment and in no time it was bent out of adjusment. It has now been straightened enough times to be in need of replacement. It is a fine tool for those who care about their equipment, but does not stand up to the rougher threatmet of students learning these tools for the first time. ...more

Installation was a little tricky, but all installations are tricky for this old guy. And it is only because of my lack of confidence. I only wish I could afford the rest of this item which would include the balanced blade cover with dust collection. ...more
[3] Rating: 4 Date: 2007-10-06 Summary: High quality - and high price ... Prior to this, I used the Delta removable splitter (part # 1349941) that comes with the Delta Uniguard. It costs about $40 when purchased separately. Since the Delta Biesemeyer costs 3 times as much, I was expecting great things. Here's what I found: Installation and alignment was easy. The splitter bolted on to my Delta Unisaw without a problem. This splitter is solid and well made and it snaps in and out in seconds. The product was long overdue to buy. The mobile base was simple and quick to put together. If you too have an older unisaw, I want to point out a few problems I ran into, just in case you have the same issues. On the lower base of the saw, there is an opening for a dust port. When you install the saw onto the mobile base, this port is no longer available to use. The back of the base covers up about half the opening. ...more

Some complaints about welds breaking, or hard to manuever is petty. It has a two year warranty. Don't you know a welder? Fix it, spray it black again, and get on with it. If you were to buy the materials and make this yourself it would cost a lot more. Consider your time, and skills. I was a machinist for 25 years and I felt it was a great deal for the money. You may have to make a few adjustments to true it all up but, when your finished this thing is rock solid.The T-track system allows you to extend your gauge well beyond the edge of your table for larger pieces.Made with a combination of aluminum and steel this thing is built to last.I do recommend coating the bar with a dri-cote type product if rust is a concern.
