Customer Reviews [1] Rating: 5 Date: 2010-01-29 Summary: Freud table saw blades ... Freud LU87R010 10-Inch 24-Tooth FTG Thin Kerf Ripping Saw Blade with 5/8-Inch Arbor and PermaShield Coating No reservations about the performance of this blade, and the (Amazon) price is much lower than other high-quality blades. I only have 110 volt supply in my shop, so any contractor saw will be marginal in power. My 10-inch Craftsman table saw is well-tuned to make clean, accurate cuts, but a recent project required ripping 1 3/4 inch mahogany. I was working too hard and getting too much burning with a combo blade. ...more
[2] Rating: 5 Date: 2010-01-16 Summary: What's not to like? ... Wow, what a beautiful blade! I just bought a 1 1/2 HP Hitachi hybrid table saw, and while it's great and has a fantastic fence, it's struggled a bit with hardwood ripping, even with my Freud 60 tooth finishing blade on it, so I searched Amazon for a solution and after reading all of the positive reviews, decided to give this blade a shot. I literally just finished installing it on my saw and decided to try it on some 4/4 bloodwood, and it was like a hot knife through butter! I'm not much for writing reviews, but this ...more
[3] Rating: 5 Date: 2009-12-23 Summary: how do they do it ... I purchased the LU87 and just used it recently and couldn't believe how quiet and smooth it cut. It left no rough edges. Even though it was only half-inch goods I was cutting Chinese Birch which has a soft veneer on top and ultra smooth. No chips. It is thin kerf also since I have less then 3hp saw. Very little burn and no residue. It is a great blade and I can't believe the price considering it is a Freud. I used to be just satisfied with the old Craftsman blades I had and just sanded he hell out of the mistakes but ...more

Customer Reviews [1] Rating: 5 Date: 2010-01-11 Summary: Amazing Blade ... Any time you can cut 1/16" off the end of a 2x4 and can actually pick up the 1/16th inch piece of wood when you are done, you know you are using a very good blade. I used this blade for framing my basement. the blade that came with my circular saw lasted about 35 minutes, and this diablo blade took over and is still going strong several days later. ...more
[2] Rating: 5 Date: 2009-09-07 Summary: IT's Like butta.....cut your own stair stringers with this ... If you have ever cut your own stair stringers, you know what pain it can be. I was always scared of circular saws, but didn't want to use a Japanese pull saw on 2 long sets of stringers-been there, done that. I bought a really inexpensive circular saw ( 60$) and used this blade. Makes it like a high quality saw.......very quiet, very smooth very controllable and accurate. The blade is one of the few that are not made in China......it's made in Italy. And it's made like a piece of jewelry. Very high quality! And it ...more
[3] Rating: 5 Date: 2009-06-29 Summary: Cuts Through Wood Like Butter ... I have to help some family to remove a deck. I tried to rip through the top layer with the blade that came with the saw, it did OK for the first 20 boards, then just couldn't do anything. Went out and bought this blade, put it on my $40 circular saw...and ripped right through the top boards and the 2x10 trusses like butter. This blade works exactly as advertised. ...more

[2] Rating: 5 Date: 2008-10-21 Summary: One size fits all... ... This is a nice blade. It cuts very clean. I like it better than the 30T and 40T WW2 in plywood and melamine. I haven't done extensive ripping in thick dense stock however. But in the 3/4 material I have tried there was no burning in the curly cherry I was using. And the rips were glue ready. Saw marks were minimal as well. The feed rate felt good. However as far as feed rate It wasn't a 24T or 20T rip blade. When I cut some Home Depot Melamine with the right feed rate I got 0 tear out. I looked, and didn't find any. ...more
[3] Rating: 4 Date: 2010-01-30 Summary: Nice Blade ... I'm somewhat of a newbie-- and I made a newbie error. The chart says this is an exceptional blade for ripping and crosscutting. Well I used it to rip 8/4 birch, and it dulled the blade pretty quickly. I think ripping 4/4 is the sweet spot for this blade. Next time I'm using a dedicated ripping blade. Overall, it's a fine cutter. ...more

[2] Rating: 5 Date: 2008-03-15 Summary: Nice Blade ... Nice blade. As expected very smooth cut. The cost is that it removes a lot of wood. It performed as expected. [3] Rating: 5 Date: 2007-03-03 Summary: Impressive Blade ... You're not going to believe this, but...... I bought this blade in 2004 on sale to replace the OEM blade that came on my Table Saw. This blade made perfectly smooth cuts on Oak, Cherry and Cedar without so much as a tooth mark: cross cut or rip cut. After about 2 years of casual use, it started to leave a fuzzy edge so I bought the WWII to replace it. I was not impressed- the WW blade left very subtle tooth marks (on the same saw and set up mind you) that were visible when holding the cut towards a light. Not drastic, ...more
