I cut everything from alluminum to hard steel. I have even cut 3 inch heavy wall tubing with this saw and still on the original blade and that is after making all the cuts for 280 foot of pipe fence just recently built. There is no burrs and the cuts are cool enough to handle after you make them. The best part is you don't loose any of your cutting diameter after several cuts like with the abrasive blades. I normally went thru 6-8 abrasive blades a year ...more

No longer, this is the best metal cutting device I have ever tried and I have tried them all. Blade lasts much longer than you would expect and if you set things up properly you will get a perfect cut every time. Well worth the money. My wife thinks I have every tool known to man. I was wrong, It is of the quality made famous by Milwaukee and will be used regulary. The orignal blade that comes on this unit is not worth squat. We use these in our shop all the time and they are fabulous. A few words of warning. Anyone not experienced with this type of cutting should not try it with this blade. I discovered a few weeks ago that our blade has missing teeth from overuse, overheating and inexperienced workers. Be careful cut slow and the blade will do it's job well. Not wanting to spend a lot for the whole saw I went for only the blade. Well I put it on my table saw and it cut very clean and with very few sparks. Now I did feed it at about 1/6th the speed of a piece of wood while cutting 3/16 inch thick steel. All I can say is it cut great, Very clean,cool to the touch in about 20 seconds or so. I cut quite a bit of 80/20 extrusions (1515, 1530, 3030) and everything turned out clean and accurate. I used my shop vac to catch much of the swarf. With cutting fluid, I got nearly polished cuts. Definitely clamp things well and make sure your saw is tuned up and squared for best results. It actually performs pretty well in wood in a pinch. ...more

This would have taken me hours with a hacksaw. The time saving is worth the price alone. The cuts are also very smooth and clean. No sanding is necessary and thanks to the miter saw all the cuts are straight. I'm also impressed at how the blade affords very precise cuts. Almost every cut was dead on the measurement.
